This project is a remarkable transformation of a typical 1950’s house. Rather than demolish the existing property, the design involved comprehensive redevelopment and the addition of an extra storey.

The detail

The house was completely remodelled externally, leaving no trace of the original uninspiring appearance. This included an insulated render system, timber cladding and triple glazed windows and doors. The creation of a third floor provided additional bedrooms and bathrooms which took maximum advantage of the stunning views from this elevated site through the use of large glazed doors and a continuous balcony. This storey is completely zinc clad and provides striking contrast to the rendered facades below. The quality of the internal refurbishment is equal to the building’s outward appearance.
